I have found that people buying watches as a gift usually have a very specific thing in mind when they set out shopping.  It is very rewarding to find just the right watch for a space that really needs it.  Sometimes color is the only consideration.

Content is also very appropriate to consider.  If you are buying a watch for someone that has very distinct tastes, it is important to keep that in the forefront of your mind.  Sporty watch might be great for some friend but not for another.

Size constraints need to be taken into account when buying watches as a gift.  If your girlfriend having alergic wearing watch, buying for her is not a good idea.  It is a good idea to buy for someone who want it for a certain reason. Take a look at the place where you can purchase good watch before go purchasing one. Color can be a big factor in the buying of a watch.  If the color clashes with the person’s interest, they will probably not be very excited about hanging it.  If the color is just right, it will hang on them for a very long time

Religious themed watches are difficult to buy for friends, but easy to buy as a gift.  More than likely, you know what religion your relatives adhere to and what symbols are most relevant to it.
Choosing to buy watches as a gift based on the person’s previous work is also a good method of finding great watch.  If the person already has purchased watch from the shop that they like and that they hang prominently in their home, then it is a safe bet to buy another piece from the same shop.

Sometimes buying a nice watch as a gift has a point of inspiration, like a reminder of occasion.  If your mom and dad just visited Paris, a nice watch of Paris might be a great choice.  It is good to know what landmarks they enjoyed most and find an artistic representation of it.
There is an aunt that I adore that is always buying watch as a gift.  Her heart is in the right place, but she has a hard time picking watches that are appropriate for the recipient.  She bought her daughter a lovely watch that was Azan Watch and completely fit the feel of her home and religion.
